THE MULTI TRAILER
An isolated Black Deaf woman has constructed a world of order to keep a childhood trauma buried deep in her psyche, then an unexpected turn of events forces her to confront her demons from the past who threaten to destroy everything she has built as she tries to keep control of her life before it’s too late.
The Multi is a short film created by a majority deaf cast and crew. Written and Produced by Natasha Ofili, a deaf black actor, the story’s inspiration came from her experiences with mental health and challenges faced by women of color.
Behind an obsessively controlled environment, Amara, a Black Deaf woman, buries the pain of childhood abuse by her father. Her avoidance has created a protective persona, Sade - a free-spirited being who takes over when things become too much. Isolated and faced with the prospect of seeing her father again, Sade resurfaces to taste the freedom of living.
As Sade tears down her carefully constructed world, Amara has to confront her alter-ego and the trauma she has hidden. Can Amara keep control of her life? Will she finally be free of the pain or will Sade take over forever?

AM I NEXT?
“Am I Next?” is an unfortunate, powerful art story where we brought together our Black Deaf individuals in our community to share the heart of what we are feeling and experiencing after the death of George Floyd.
It has been an emotional roller coaster of turmoil for the entire nation of us Black people. There is so much pain, injustice in the system and exhaustion.
Bringing this to light, we hope this will push the Black Lives Matter movement of change forward for absolute justice, action, unity, consciousness, and love in this country. At the end of all this, we want to dismantle systematic racism for good. We are counting on you to make that happen.
